3D scanners haven’t quite yet become devices we use daily, but they are already widely used in areas like medicine, design, and reverse engineering. And now they are taking over a new field– elite sport!
Athletic disciplines such as cycling and triathlon rely heavily on aerodynamics. The better the aerodynamics of an athlete, the faster they can cross the finish line, where just a few seconds can mean the difference between winning and losing.
Specialists at Hale Dynamics used 3D scanning and fluid dynamic analysis in order to increase the effectiveness of the athletes.
To read more about how this was done, please check out the “Fighting Aerodynamic Drag with a 3D Scanner” case study.
